Executive Director Kimberley Barreda
SPORTS BACKGROUND
A National Level athlete from the age of 13 years old, With National Records and over 40
Gold and Silver medals from competitions in numerous sports, Kimberley Barreda brings over 25 years
of disabled sports competition and management experience.
SPORTS MANAGEMENT AND BOD BACKGROUND
Ms Barreda first joined the management end of disabled sports in 1983 in the capacity of
Fundraising Chair for Ontario Amputee Sports Association, and went on to hold committee seats
in Junior Development, Communications, Rules and Records and Volunteer Development in addition
to competing at the National and International Levels.
With her background in disabled sports and marketing, Ms Barreda formed IMAGE Management in
1994, the largest agency in the world specializing in athletes and entertainers with disabilities.
A partial list of past and present clients include entertainers Van Gogh (www.vangoghmusic.com),
Multiple Paralympic Gold Medalist Jeff Tiessen, Paralympic Silver Medalist and US National Pentathlon Champion Thomas Bourgeois,
snowboarder Luke Grossi, marathon runner Mark Soldo, mountain climber Gemini Award winning broadcaster Joanne
Smith, models Sally Prior, and Union Actors Diana Zimmer, Jeremy Ein, and numerous others.
IMAGE Management also handled initial casting for AI and other Hollywood films.
Further utilizing the fundraising and communications skills, Ms Barreda also volunteers and
donates time and services to various community organizations supporting the disability community
as well as to www.Tinman.org, a social issues program that runs First Frontiers, an online
community for children.
BUSINESS BACKGROUND
In addition to running BLAST Inc, Ms Barreda is a feature writer and "Hot Topics" segment author
for Active Living Magazine, covering business, op-ed and other disability issues.
